Ramble On

Wednesday, August 19, 2009:  Yesterday was “one of those days,” if you know what I mean.  I drove to Eustis, Florida to store-sit for Elite Uniforms which my son, Tim, owns.  Had a great time doing that.  After we closed the store, we drove to dinner, with me following behind in my 1995 Honda del Sol.  As we were turning the corner of the last leg to the restaurant, my car died.  Literally.  Runs no more.  Could not jump start it and it did not sound like a power issue.  My hubby said I should have it towed somewhere safe and stay the night with Tim, and he would pick me and the car up the next day.  When he called his dad to find out which trailer, dolly, etc. was available to use, his dad insisted on coming to get me and my car.  That’s when the real fun began!

We had dinner, went to the Eustis Fire Department where Tim works, hung out while Tim and some of the firefighters played Frisbee Football, and headed to Tim’s when done.  Watched some British shows – too funny – and his dog, Thor, bit me.  Brought blood but did not break the skin.  Then he finally quit barking at me and drank all the water in my glass…

While waiting for my knight in shining armor to arrive and get me and my car, his trailer had a flat tire and his trailer lights weren’t connected properly.  He took the long way, per his GPS, and finally arrived after 10 p.m.  We got the del Sol on the trailer after much fun, “an adventure” he called it…  And were on the road by 12:30 am-ish.  Slow drive home -  the car did not move a bit.  Arrived at his home, “the farm,” where we left the car on the trailer and I borrowed their extra around town vehicle, an older Nissan.  No air, no dash lights and oh what an interesting range of motion in the gear shifter!

Finally had my shower, unpacked my stuff and got settled enough to go to bed around 3 a.m.

I love my father in law!  Father in law’s are so underrated!!!

My car has likely succumbed to a computer brain related issue caused by the “Flood ‘O Geiger” last month.  Joe will have it tested on Friday.
